AMD teams with 14 South Korean AI-chip and infrastructure companies on heterogeneous AI computing, ROCm and global deployment

What changed
AMD CEO Lisa Su met 14 South Korean AI-semiconductor, software, cloud and model companies in Seoul on October 7 to advance heterogeneous AI infrastructure combining AMD CPUs and GPUs with Korean NPUs and other domestic accelerators. Participants included Rebellions, FuriosaAI, HyperAccel, DEEPX, Mobilint, MangoBoost, Panmnesia, Dinotisia, Moreh, Nota AI, Lablup, FADU, Elice Group and Upstage. The group discussed ROCm ecosystem participation, domestic validation and turning the resulting architecture into a global reference model. AMD also said it plans a Korean AI Center of Excellence and the hiring of hundreds of researchers. The effort follows the Korean science ministry and AMD's July cooperation MoU.
