What changed

Doosan Robotics announced on October 6 that two proposals were selected for Korea's K-On-Device AI Semiconductor Technology Development Program and Robot Industry Technology Development Program. The combined R&D budget is about KRW 98.9 billion, including roughly KRW 68.1 billion in government funding. One project will embed a domestically developed AI SoC/NPU directly in collaborative robots so perception, decision-making and control can run without an external PC or cloud; the other applies intelligent welding to complex manufacturing, including nuclear-power equipment. Doosan plans to integrate both into a Physical AI platform for collaborative robots.
