Retool opens early access to a centralized agent harness for employee agents in Slack, Teams and Google Chat with shared policy controls

What changed
Retool opened early access to a centralized enterprise agent harness on October 6. Employees can work with personal agents from Slack, Microsoft Teams and Google Chat while administrators centrally govern the models, tools and data those agents may use. Agents run in centrally hosted sandboxes or an enterprise VPC, tool calls pass through policy checks outside the model, and each agent has its own virtual service account and audit identity for action and cost tracing. Retool explicitly excludes employee-laptop access, browser automation and desktop control from this harness. The company says it has used the system internally for four months and is beginning rollout to roughly the next 100 customers.
