Pinterest launches Beauty Guides, using visual understanding and generative AI to turn hair and nail Pins into actionable plans

Pinterest launched Beauty Guides on October 6 for iOS users in the United States. The feature turns hair-style, hair-color and nail Pins into personalized action plans by combining Pinterest visual understanding with a large language model. Guides explain what to ask for at a salon, expected steps and timing, price ranges, maintenance, similar looks, relevant products and at-home instructions, accessible through a “Get the Guide” action on supported Pins. Pinterest says it plans to expand to more users, regions and product categories, so this is not yet a global all-platform rollout.
