Claude enters public beta inside Google Docs, Sheets and Slides with in-place editing, spreadsheet modeling and slide creation

What changed

Anthropic put Claude for Google Workspace into beta on October 6 for Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. The Marketplace extension adds a Claude sidebar to Docs, Sheets and Slides so it can read and edit the currently open file in place, with changes visible in Google's version history. Claude can build or repair formulas and models in Sheets, rewrite long documents in Docs and create or restyle slides. Anthropic distinguishes this extension from its Google Workspace connectors in Claude chat: here, Claude comes into the file the user already has open.
