MLflow 3.17 brings typed decisions and judges across evaluation, Gateway and tracing, with finer shared-resource permissions

What changed
MLflow released 3.17.0 on October 7 with a focus on GenAI evaluation and observability. TypeSafe models can now produce typed Boolean or categorical feedback in built-in scorers and custom judges, extending decision-style evaluation across Evaluation, Gateway and Tracing. Shared resources gain finer-grained permissions for runs, traces and versions, including wildcard grants and explicit DENY. Large trace datasets can use opt-in daily summaries to reduce SQL analytics overhead, and aggregate evaluation metrics can be linked to the managed dataset that produced them. SQL-backed servers require a coordinated database schema upgrade before moving to 3.17; mixed-version rolling upgrades are not supported.
