Google launches AI game-creation platform Playground and previews Unity Spark for natural-language game building

What changed
Google launched Playground on October 7, a browser-based AI game-creation platform available in the U.S. to users 18 and older. Creators can start from prompts or templates, modify characters, physics and environments conversationally, and share or publish games without coding. Google and Unity also previewed Unity Spark, a more advanced 3D creation environment planned for closed beta later this year, with projects shareable through Playground. Reports say Playground combines Google models including Gemini, Nano Banana and Lyria, with free access and higher weekly limits for Google One subscribers.
