Pantheon launches P1 for human-agent web operations and opens a governed MCP Server for fleet management

What changed
Pantheon introduced P1 at /GoLive on October 6 as an AI-native composition and WebOps layer where people and agents can jointly manage content, integrations and web fleets. CMSWire reports that teams can work through traditional interfaces, an embedded agent called Zappy, or MCP-compatible clients such as Claude and ChatGPT, with Next.js and React components as a foundation. Pantheon also opened its official MCP Server beta the same day; it is read-only by default, requires explicit opt-in for writes and forwards the user's own Pantheon identity and permissions. P1 is the new platform layer, while its MCP and API components have their own beta release tracks.
