Claude Code introduces mods for event hooks, behavior rewriting and custom terminal UI

What changed
Claude.dev published an October 1 guide to Claude Code mods. A mod is a JavaScript or TypeScript module shipped inside a plugin that can observe session events, rewrite or block actions and draw custom terminal UI. Official examples include Token Weather for context-window status, Blast Radius for reviewing risky shell commands, and Replay Theater for stepping through edits. Mods require Claude Code 2.1.287 or later and run locally with powerful access, so users should install them only from trusted sources.
