SailPoint unveils Autonomous Agents and A-ISPM while expanding Agentic Fabric for shadow-AI discovery, runtime authorization and kill switches

What changed

SailPoint announced a new wave of identity-security capabilities at Navigate 2026 on October 6. Three classes of Autonomous Agents can enforce policy and right-size privileges, while Autonomous Identity Security Posture Management (A-ISPM) uses live identity context from SailPoint Atlas to find exposures continuously and close the loop with remediation. The expanded Agentic Fabric adds shadow-AI discovery, runtime authorization and an instant kill switch for AI agents. SailPoint also announced just-in-time provisioning and effective-privilege visibility for humans and machines to reduce standing access. Security-effectiveness and real-time-defense claims are vendor positioning and depend on each deployment's policies and connected systems.
