Oracle APEX 26.2 goes GA with OpenAI Responses and Gemini Interactions support plus database-enforced agent data permissions

What changed

Oracle announced immediate on-premises general availability of APEX AI Application Generator 26.2 on October 6, with Autonomous AI Database and multi-cloud rollout to follow. Generative AI Services now support OpenAI Responses-compatible APIs, Google Gemini Interactions and OCI Generative AI, with new Reasoning Effort controls. AI Agents can navigate users to developer-approved application pages while trusted application code constructs the signed URL. Deep Data Security also keeps supported agent SQL under the requesting user's database security context, enforcing row-, column- and value-level access rather than granting broader data access simply because an agent asks for it.
