Tulip brings AI agents to the factory floor with live machine, vision and operator data plus bidirectional MCP connectivity

What changed
Tulip announced a new set of factory-floor AI and operational-data capabilities at Operations Calling 2026 on October 6. Operators and engineers can build apps, agents and automations against live machine, vision and human-context data. Factory Playback combines edge-camera streams with vision-language models to create replayable production history and adds human-activity detection, while Composable AI Agents expand into more shop-floor workflows. Tulip also announced native bidirectional MCP connectors so external AI and coding agents can work with Tulip apps, tables and workflows under permissions and audit trails, and Tulip agents can call external systems. Several capabilities remain in customer testing or preview rather than full general availability.
