What changed

OpenAI announced at 20:53 UTC on October 6 that Decisions API is now in public beta for all developers. Powered by GPT-6 Luna, it accepts text and image inputs but focuses on finite decision spaces rather than free-form generation. Predicates estimate whether a statement is true, Choices select among predefined options with confidence, and Scores evaluate an input on a numeric range. OpenAI says these decision requests can run up to 10x faster than using GPT-6 Luna through the Responses API; that is a vendor performance claim rather than an independent cross-provider benchmark.
