Soilytix releases the LOAM genomic-AI family trained on 15,640 environmental microbial genomes for crop-protection discovery

What changed
Germany-based Soilytix released its LOAM family of genomic AI models on October 6 together with a preprint and four research-use models. The company says LOAM was trained on 15,640 microbial genomes reconstructed from long-read sequencing of soil, sediment and water, totaling about 67.5 billion DNA bases. The models target gene essentiality, enzyme function and genetic-variant effects and are being integrated into Soilytix's bio-asset discovery workflow to narrow microbial genes and proteins for crop-protection testing. Benchmark leadership claims come from the company's own evaluation and should not be generalized into a universal model ranking.
