BioRender launches Leo, a scientific-figure agent that plans, sketches and builds fully editable research graphics

What changed
BioRender launched Leo on October 6, an AI agent purpose-built for scientific figures. Rather than jumping directly from a prompt to a finished image, Leo first asks about audience, purpose and requirements, then produces a rough sketch for researcher review. After approval it builds the final figure on the BioRender canvas, where labels, arrows, icons and shapes remain individually editable. BioRender says Leo is available starting today for all BioRender users.
