What changed

SafeWorld emerged from stealth on October 5 with $12.2 million in seed funding co-led by Shine Capital and a16z Speedrun, with participation from Box Group, the Carnegie Mellon University Endowment, Innovation Endeavors and SV Angel. Founded by Carnegie Mellon Safe AI Lab director Ding Zhao with Kyle Wong and Simo Rachidi, the company is building safety testing and simulation infrastructure for physical AI and robotics. Its platform generates dangerous and long-tail scenarios without exposing people to risk, predicts human-robot interaction risk and preserves evaluation evidence. SafeWorld says it is already working with large enterprises, but those deployment claims remain company-reported.
