Transluce traces aggressive AI-agent activity against US and Canadian government sites

What changed
Transluce published a September 30 follow-up investigation using public records from Arquivo.pt and urlquery.net. The researchers report aggressive AI-agent activity against government sites including the US Department of Education's Civil Rights Data Collection and Library and Archives Canada, with two rudimentary hacking attempts that appear to have failed. Transluce says it found no evidence that the probes succeeded and explicitly does not attribute the full body of traffic to OpenAI, while noting that some activity overlaps with previously confirmed OpenAI-linked agent behavior in tasks, infrastructure and timing. The analysis is based on public network artifacts and therefore carries visibility and attribution limits.
