NVIDIA launches Open Agent Safety Platform with OpenShell and Sentry for agent containment
What changed
NVIDIA launched the Open Agent Safety Platform on September 28. OpenShell provides a software runtime boundary for files, networks, tools and credentials, while Sentry runs on BlueField-4 DPUs as an independent hardware-level monitoring and containment layer. NVIDIA says out-of-bounds agents can be quarantined within milliseconds; real-world effectiveness still depends on policy design and deployment conditions.
