StepFun open-sources Step Code with long-running tasks, multi-agent work and static publishing
What changed
StepFun has open-sourced Step Code, a terminal coding agent that reads repositories, edits files and runs tests. It includes MCP, Agent Skills, plugin compatibility and multi-agent orchestration; `/goal` delegates long-running work, `/cron` schedules it, and StepPage publishes a local directory as a static site. The code is MIT-licensed, while native Windows PowerShell support is still marked beta.
